A series of images relating to and surrounding the sale of MG Rover by BMW and the subsequent changes at the then largest UK motor manufacturer. It had been hoped to include an interview and portrait of John Towers, CBE of the Phoenix Consortium but he declined. My clients brief was that I should shoot black and white, use strong lighting and get all models to do something with their hands.

Brandon Gough, Alchemy Partners
Perhaps the only company with the right idea as regards the future of MG Rover in view of what subsequently happened although they were derided at the time. This shot was done very rapidly, under 10 mins and the only place to work was in the elevator lobby. My assistant and I were inside the lift and Mr Gough made bold use of his hands, and at my direction, avoided looking straight to camera.
